🏆 Cup Spotlight
This Sunday sees three massive cup fixtures for the club, with teams across all age groups competing for a place in the next round.
⚫️ U15s – County Cup Last 16
Our U15s face Wythenshawe in the last 16 of the County Cup. The team will be looking to continue their impressive run in the competition, having already progressed through the last two rounds via penalty shootouts.
Managers Sam Melling and Mark Ney will be hoping to get the job done in normal time, but the lads are ready to go all the way to spot kicks again if required.
⚫️ U17s – East Manchester Challenge Cup Semi-Final
Our U17s take on Grove Athletic in the semi-final of the East Manchester Challenge Cup. It promises to be an entertaining contest, with two Stockport teams battling for a place in the final during their first season in the East Manchester League.
Despite being in strong form, manager Nathan Downes has stressed the importance of focus and respect for the opposition:
“It’s just another game of football. We turn up and do what I know the lads can do. We don’t underestimate any opponent, and we treat every game like it’s our last.”
⚫️ Men’s First Team – Stockport Cup Last 16
Finally, our Men’s First Team travel to face Newhall Green, a Stockport Premier side, in the last 16 of the Terry Conlon Stockport Cup.
The lads are confident of getting a result and causing an upset. With hard work, confidence, and quality all needing to click, the team is determined to put in a performance that will do the club proud.
⚽️ Best of luck to all our teams this Sunday!
